The Friends of LSEM, Inc. announce the opening of an extraordinary exhibit of the Shreveport Art Club.  The annual member show, A Celebration of Louisiana, celebrating its 94th year in Shreveport will open on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. with an artists’ reception.  Light refreshments will be served.

Criteria for inclusion in the show are that all works must be original in concept and completed since June 2014.  The entry must not have won an award in Shreveport or Bossier shows nor have been shown in a previous SAC show.  Categories include acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, graphics, mixed media collage and photography.  Judging the show will be Marian Ichaso de Lefeld, a native of Caracas, Venezuela and now a well-known Dallas artist.

For this year’s show many of the artists will have a Louisiana theme, judged by museum curator, Nita Cole and the exhibit staff.  “We are so excited that some of the artwork will reflect Louisiana’s culture.  With so many talented artists and the variety of media displayed, the show will have great appeal for our visitors. ”

The members participating are:  Christine Bailey, Carole Berry, Yvonne Chafin, Jean Clarkson, Marion Davis, Susan Duke-Posey, Lee Elwinger, Becky Garner, Joyce Hawkins, Adena Helm, Bob Horne, Judy Horne, Julia Kolniak, Melba Miller, Frances O’Callaghan, Nancy Scott, Kay Smith, Rob Smith, Ronnie Smith, Linda Snider Ward and William Wood.
